What kinds of products do you use on your children's hair? My son's hair gets so dry & i've been using Kemi(sp) oil on it but his hair just drinks it up.

MY SON USES THE SAME THING AND HIS SCALP DRINKS IT UP AS WELL. IF YOU FIND SOMETHING ELSE..LET ME KNOW.

My sister in law (who has 3 kids) and her friend took a look at my son's hair & told me to rub a pea size drop of conditioner between my hands and rub it throughout his hair. They said this would give him added moisturizer that he needs because his hair is so dry. I'm gonna start tomorrow and see if it helps. I'll keep you posted!!

I recently tried Palmer's (I THINK that's the brand) coconut hair oil on my son and notices a difference. It gave his hair a nice sheen (w/out that greasy look) and it felt much softer. I have been rubbing a tad bit into his hair maybe every 2 days and it seems to be helping combat the dryness. I also tried it on my daughter's hair & it gave her a nice sheen as well, but, did not last as long. It also did nothing for her edges. Any luck with any other products?

Depends on his hair. I was having that issue too, because it was growing out too long.( not enough for me to braid it real good though) Yet, I found the best thing to do is
1. Spray it with leave-in conditioner spray, or braid spray or, detangler spray
2. Then, finger comb it, while adding warm water
3. Then, add a Thicker moisturizing lotion. Rub in, brush and pat it into shape.
I hope that helps you too.

i use Cantu w/shea butter (leave in conditioner) once to twice a week. and to moisturize her scalp i use extra virgin olive oil.

Hi ladies!

I know I may be a bit biased but I use Warm Spirit's Anahita Hair Oil on my 7 y/o son and my 2-1/2 y/o daughter. My hair does well with it too, but my texture is a little different from theirs. I have soft hair that frizzes a bit so it works well for me....never greasy (which is a problem I had with other products)! My middle son and daughter have "steel wool" on their heads and the Anahita Hair Oil works wonders! I've used Palmer's, Just For Me, and a couple of other things that haven't really worked that well. I even went to the health food store before I started my Warm Spirit business searching for something for my son and the "hair dressing/conditioner" that I found there didn't work either. I do have to use a little water with the Anahita Hair Oil for my daughter, but she's tender-headed and the combination of water and Anahita Hair Oil is a great detangler. I like the Anahita Hair Oil better than the Anahita Hair Butter just for convenience. The Hair Oil comes in a bottle with a sprayer and it sprays just enough when I part her hair! It's a little difficult to use the Hair Butter in the jar when I'm trying to hold down a fidgeting little girl! LOL!

Anahita's Hair Oil is the only thing that has worked for my children.

Warmly,

Nichelle

Have you ever tried all natural liquid shea butter? or some good old fashion pink oil.

I didn't even know about liquid shea butter. Where can you find it? I didn't even think of pink oil!! Don't know how I overlooked that!

I forget that the all natural shea butter can be hard to find sometimes. I would usually get mines from the flea market where a small vender would have a large ball of the shea and make the product you want. Iguess it just depends on where you live. I know places like atlanta, its easy to come by. but if you can find maybe a vender with african products sometimes they might sell the all natural. But the pink oil is great also. I even have a friend who uses that cheap, clear like gerry curl gel and her hair stays moisturized. I know it sounds funny but i think i might start using that myself for moisture.

I wish we had a vender here in vegas with that all n. sheabutter. Also My son and daughters hair doesn't work well with pink moisturizer, it doesn't make it slick down or anything, it puts some moisture in it but it doesn't make it look good, it'll still be fuzzy.. I used to use it years ago when it first came out.myself. But it doesn't work for them. Speaking of my hair...the last time I had a perm was jan. I have braids right now but I'm taking them out. I'm trimming my ends and gonna start using that curl gel soon till I feel like braiding it again.

I'm like you Nailah, the pink doesn't work for me or my daughter. I wish I could find something that worked on both of us. I have just started using creame of nature shampoo/condintier but haven't found anything for styling yet. It's hard to find something that will work with this heat.
