I currently work at home, I'm a writer and indie publisher. I'm opening a bookstore next month and will be working there mostly.

It is so good to see other moms who work from home/own their own businesses. I work from home and out and about in my daily life as an Independent Consultant for Warm Spirit, a self care, wellness and pampering company. I promote healthy lifestyles with natural and nature based products created to support spa quality pampering in the comfort of home. If you are interested in working in this area, just visit http://JoinWarmSpiritNow.com and drop me a note on my page here at BMC. Congratulations to all of the other Mompreneurs out there and I wish you all success!

Just wanted to say that it is so inspiring to hear all these successful mompreneur stories. I am about to take the plunge and stay home to homeschool my 4 year old princess while running a Project Management consulting business. I also have other business ideas that I would like to implement over time. Do any of you have practical advice on maintaining th balance between being a stay-at-home mom and a mompreneur? I don't want my daughter's needs to suffer for the sake of progressing the business.

I would like to start my own business, but i don't really know what it is that i want to do. I have had so many ideas, but it seems that it only last for that day (while i'm @ work wishing that i was not). I have been thinking about getting into the home parties (sex toy business) but is there alot of black women that are into that type of thing. I also do gift bags with all natural products soap, lotions, shea butter but in my area it seems as if everyone is donig the same thing not so much the gift bags but selling the same product.

Okay Ladies, I just had to add my two scents in here. (lol) I wanted to give you a brief about what I do. I am a homebased travel agent. I started less than a year ago and I was able to walk away from my job thanks to it. I am debt and stress free thanks to it. When I was working I went from paycheck to paycheck and was never able to see light at the end of the tunnel, but Thank God I have finally found the light. The best part of it is that I do not have to carry products and even in a bad economy people are traveling.

I would love for you to give me a call so that I can share with you how this has truly share with you how this has changed mine and my families life.

My name is Kim Godfrey, aka KimSyne. I am a Mom, Paralegal, and Spokesperson for WomenHeart as well as a Work at Home Mom.

I am a distributor for a wonderful company in an industry that will create more millionaires in the next ten years than any other industry. These will be people in your neighborhood…the average person that dares to act on their dream can become financially free.

Why this company?

Six years in Industry, 20 plus years in industry leadership
Less than 10K distributors in the United States and Canada (ex. Mary Kay has 1.7 Million distributors)
Numerous ways to make money
Product currently used in 85% of all homes
Eco-friendly product currently used in 85% of all homes and some businesses
Popular gift item

I went to a company event and had a wonderful time. I asked my sponsor about the lack of minority distributors. She challenged me to bring in some minorities. This company is almost nonexistent in in our community and I want to build a large network of minority distributors.

The market is ripe for this opportunity but I can’t do it alone. I am looking for a few people who dare to dream and act on those dreams. This is not a get rich quick scheme but if you are a hard worker, organized, and looking for something different and fun…if you consistently throw in a few hours a week you can write your own check. These are the type of people I want to work with as my team leaders.

If you think this could be you, please email me a paragraph or two about yourself and your ultimate dream to kimsyne@gmail.com with Lead Distributor in the Subject line.

Include your name, address, email address, and phone number. I will also let you know if there are other distributors in your postal code. This is an excellent opportunity for leaders and potential leaders.

*Please-Serious Inquiries ONLY. There will be an open call for distributors and testers after the Lead Distributors are in place and trained.

This is really a great forum. I just started a business in an effort to assist our youth with thinking critically before they act upon a negative thought. My company's name is Think 5, A New Way of Thinking. Presently, I have one resource available and it's a book entitled "Think 5 - Sometimes Life Presents No 2nd or 3rd Chances." The book is non-fiction, it has pictures, biographies, penal code information, and scenarios of how a person's life could be if they took that negative thought and transformed it into a positive thought and action. We are targeting all, but business of course is slow starting out.

Any suggestions with speeding up business? I have placed the book in book stores and we have a webpage at www.ithink5.com I tried to place my book on Amazon, but unbeknownst to me, someone claimed ownership to my product. Can you believe that? Now, I am in a constant battle to have Amazon as well as those other booksellers to STOP selling my product.

If you know of ANYONE who could benefit from this valuable resource, please refer them to my webpage at www.ithink5.com As I mentioned earlier, this book is a great resource in assisting our youth with thinking before they act. The book would be suitable for 5th grade on up to adults. Please pass this information on to anyone you think may be interested.

Thank you my Sistahs.

Hi Mocha Mompreneurs,

You will probably notice this message on all discussion/forum boards because I researching the need for the online business that I would like to establish. In the February, 2008 issue of Essence magazin; one of the tips given for starting your own business was to survey a focus group to verify there is a need for the business you want to establish. Who better to ask than other mompreneurs?

As a mompreneur what do you consider to be your biggest challenge? Marketing your company or recruiting? Would you be interested in advertising on a site that is targeted to mompreneurs for the purpose of recruitment/team building and building a larger customer base on a nationwide scale? How much would you be willing to pay per year for advertising/links on a mompreneur website that had links to your website/company, email address, and search engine listings (i.e. Yahoo! and Google)?

I am looking forward to your responses because I have seen so many great businesses promoted throughout BMC and I can only tell so many people by word of mouth. It would be great to put everyone under one mompreneur umbrella and allow mommy shoppers to have a mommy mall to shop at.

Shalom Everyone,

I have been Mompreneur for 2 years now. I took a break from buying and selling Real Estate in NY and California to raise my son who is now 3 years old. I am currently working from home buying and selling property. I teach people how to do this as well as how to buy property without aquiring a mortgage. In addition to the Real Estate, my family owns a antiques business. I started my business, Antiques & Fine Art for Everyone after I noticed that there were very few people of color in the business and who owned antiques. I have antiques for experienced investors as well as antiques for the novice investor. When I tried to encourage others to start investing in antiques, some were very honest and told me that they were intimidated and did not know where to start. The Antiques & Art 4 everyone Magazine was created as a resource and tool for people of color who want to learn how to invest and for those that want to create a legacy for their children.. I was blessed to have my husband as a mentor but while he has been in the business for 23 years he did not have anyone to teach him for most of those years. We both feel it is important to spread our knowlege with the African American Community. You can also learn more about my family and I at Rasyth Enterprises LLC Thank-you so much for the warm welcom to BMC and look forward to meeting and helping others through this network.

Shalom,
Tamar.

Hi all!

I create bath and body products and just opened a new website. I've been doing this for about two years, so I'm a bit of a newbie. I started my business as a response to my daughter having severe bleeding eczema on her legs at 9 months old. All my products are natural and contain no preservatives.

My websites are:

www.sheaproducts.info

www.neosoulessentials.com
