Do good black fathers exist?

I just had a really great brainstorming session with Lamar, creator of the Black and Married with Kids blog which he co-writes with his wife Ronnie. We talked about alot of things, but one of the most important was acknowledging the existance of good black fathers. Lamar is one, my hubby is one, I'm sure all the single dads on the Black Moms Club and husbands of happy black wives are one too!

Mahagony Momma thanks for starting this post. I think there are plenty of great dads out there but you're right. We seldom talk about them because so much time is spent on absent dads, deadbeat dads, etc. So kudos to you for asking us to take the time out to acknowledge there are plenty of good fathers that exist in our community.

Yes believe that there are still good black fathers. Even though my father did not fall into that category, my husband and uncles on my mother side do live up to what I believe are great fathers.

They absolutely exist! My husband is among them...our girls need his steady hand and open heart and he gives them that and more. I'm fortunate to know a lot of good fathers who, with their wives, are raising very successful, kind and disciplined children.

This is a rhetorical question right?
If there is anyone that can answer 'no' to the question then doesn't that say more about the person with that answer than about whether they (good black fathers) actually exist?
