Does time heal all things even rape? Do you think that Roman Polanski should be let go even though he pled guilty to raping a 13-year old girl?

I guess I need more time then...20 years hasn't been quite enough. Maybe 30 years is long enough? I doubt it though.

I'm not saying that I cry everyday about the past, but the "scars" are still there.

20, 30 years is not enough. These types of crimes are crimes against humanity and there simply isn't an amount of time in my opinion that suffices to heal anything which is why I think it's sad that people would say he should be freed because it's been so long.

My sarcasm didn't translate. I referenced 30 years because that's how long it has been for that victim. I don't know why people don't realize that being raped is not just a physical act.. it damages on so many levels. He should be punished, if not for the rape (because of any statutes of limitation).. he should be punished for being a fugitive.

What is even more surprising to me is how so many celebrities love/support him because of the work he does. I guess if you produce a good product, you can get away with more. Whoopi was in the headlines as seeming to be one of those supporters... saying he didn't commit "rape-rape".. as if you can be raped just a little bit. She was a 13 year old child who, even if she had willing consented (not saying she did), should not have been taken advantage of. He should have been man enough to remove himself and/or her from the situation.

you never really heal completely from a rape that is a scar that remains forever because it always comes back to memory. you are better able to accept it an move on as time goes on. A child is not ready for sex physically or mentally weather it is by her choice and even more so by forced entry. That child grows up with issues and relationship will be problematic. Sometimes As for the man he needs to be punish his ways was immoraland sadistic at best. he will never go unpunished. what goes around comes around.

Well it's been 30 years for me and I don't know what that has to do with the case.

I'm apathetic to this particular this case - meaning I don't really care. But here's my opinion on it -

Regardless of time passed, he needs to serve some time for it - and the victim should get to determine how much time he served. I know the latter isn't possible but I'm just sayin.

But I wouldn't be surprise if money and prestige got him off.

If doing time is to serve as punishment or "time out" for adults how successful is it? What I'd like to know is after all the time that has gone by is he still engaged in the same kinds of acts? Did I also read that the victim has forgiven him if that is the case then why the big deal. What about R Kelly no one speaks on him anymore??? I do not know the full story about Polanski even though I read the article, I am not for or against this man but I do wonder how all the publicity affects both parties involved especially if both want to put it behind them and get on with life. Could you imagine being the victim and having to read about your life story in the paper or hear it in the news 30 years later.

Arrah Kell still gets talks about in private circles but his case is not public news anymore at this time unless something new comes out. He's still the butt of a lot of jokes tho - not that that matters much I'm just sayin.

Far I know, this is was the only time Polanski engaged in sex like this with a minor - or this is the one that made the news headlines. It happened around the time Polanski's wife, actress Sharon Tate, was murdered by Ted Bundy and his crew when she was 8 months pregnant with Polanski's child. Or at least that's what I'm reading. She died in '69 which is closer to 41 years than 30. They wanted to kill Polanski but he wasn't there at the time around the late. Polanski is also a jew who's parents died during the holocaust. I have no idea what this has to do with sexual assault charge, again, I'm giving some background I heard/read.

Even if forgivin by your victim, you should still serve some time IMO.

Well, I've never been violated like that, but I think the guy is disgusting. He hasn't paid his debt to society in my opinion and instead he just had the money and the means to run! Now imagine if everyone ran because they had the means and opportunity to do so. I'm disgusted by it really and the whole notion that he should get away with this, even if the victim has moved on, is insane to me. What about all the kids that never have their day in court and the perpetrators are walking free? Child molestors are the lowest forms of human life and he deserves no leniency in my opinion.
