I have twin boys that are 14 that were diagnosed at the ages of 4 and 6. I started off with the meds that the doctors reccomended but later changed what I was doing. I now feed them all natural/organic foods that seem to be working well for the past 3 years. I definately discontinued the use of all red dye foods and drinks.

NEW INFORMATION ON DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN WITH ADHD FROM NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH
Some children will simply outgrow their ADHD as their brain development catches up to the "norm". This news confirms my thought that kids with ADHD may not need medication but have a special calling and we should help them harvest the potential they have to act quickly and creatively.

Consider how you would treat your child if you knew they were going to get better naturally. Would you medicate during the interim or just wait it out? What about natural remedies? I definitely see that kids with natural remedies both improve behaviorally in the interim and allow for more "normal" behavior later too.

Here's the link to the study http://www.. nih.gov/news/ pr/nov2007/ nimh-12.htm/

Not sure if my son is ADD/ADHD as he's not yet been diagnosed-they say he's too young (3). He is 'developmentally disabled'. Many people whose kids have been diagnosed ADD/ADHD have told me they think my son is. I don't know but I'd like to join so I can at least lurk and get some direction...Thanks!

Hello Moms,
I have a daughter that I think suffers from anxiety disorders and ADHD.She's a wonderful 4 year old and I would love to connect with other parents to discuss ways to help our kids. Thanks!

I was wondering does anyone know where to start when your child has been diagnosed with ADHD and has talent in singing and art. I want her to get involved in her strong points as well as education. Also does anyone have a rountine that they do with their child in the morning and when it comes to homework and concentrating. She struggles in all of her subjects.

I don't beleave there has been any scientific proof that diet is connected to adhd.Although any child would benifit from a healthlydiet.I have a 8 year old son with ODD. Very difficult to manage. He does very well with his schoolwork but just blows up if you call him out when he does something wrong. I do beleave people are to quick to choose medication but it does have it's place. My advice to all do your own research so that you know the right questions to ask when you speak to your doctor.I'm personally trying the behavior modification route first then I'll see what happens from there.

My 6 year old was diagnosed with ADHD. I have recently changed some things in his diet. I've taken away anything with Red dye in it and I have seen such a difference. Read your labels ladies. It's in everything and it's illegal in some parts of Europe.
