The way we start the day, beginning from the time we open our eyes, sets the tone for the way our nervous system will operate. Below is a great tip that yogis recommend to get you started on the right foot.
- Always come out of sleep slowly and gradually. No sudden moves. This is important because a startle - say, from an alarm clock - triggers a reactive surge of adreneline which the body then has no use for. Unused adreneline is toxic to our system, causing deterioration and breakdown of cells. Try instead to tell your sub-conscious what time you need to get up just before you go to sleep. Set your intention to rise at the set time and rest easy. The subconscious mind has a very accute sense of time and will be happy to serve you.
This is so true. I've been waking minutes before the alarm clock, reagardless of what time I need to wake up, when I set my intention the night before. IT WORKS!! Just trust yourself.
