Hi Yogini Mommies, I posted yesterday about some of my goals physically, and one of them is figuring out how to bring yoga back into my life. I have not had a regular practice in quite some time, and I want this to change. How are you incorporating yoga into your life? Please check out my entry on my blog and let me know what you are doing as a Yogini mommy. Thanks

Hello ladies. It is difficult for me to know when someone has left a message so i guess i should pop in daily. welcome to the yogini space. Erica, the first thing I would tell you is that being confused is not a problem, in fact it is the spring board for learning so many aspects of yogic practice.

because one of the main goals of yoga is union (from the work "yoke"), specifically union of body, mind and soul as well as the finite (human) with the infinite (god) i try not to make specific recommendations to new yogis about what to read or which DVD's to purchase but instead tell them to trust their highest self. That part of them that knows what is best for them. take that part of you to the bookstore or while you surf the internet for information and be led. that can be your first yogic posture, to listen to that voice inside that says "this is interesting. this is it." and then check out whatever it is.

It is most important that we just begin. that we not let another thing be so cumbersome and convoluted that we write it off as too much. This practice of listening to our interior self is, in and of itself, something that most of us will find very disconcerting but just observe that if it comes up. examine without judgement any aversion or impulse to pull back from moving towards the practice in this way.

and do let me know how it goes. I will be posting more postures and info shortly.

best,

jasai/kundalini yogini

I am interested in beginning a yoga regimen and the more I research I do the more confused I become. I would like to know what type of yoga is best for beginners and how can yoga help with weight loss? Thanks, in advance for your help.
