The friends I do have are single with no children living the life of an average 20something.
How did you find the black moms club?

How many children do you have?
2....I have a 6 year old daughter and a 2 year old son
About Me:
I will probably change this several times so to start. I am a 25 year old mother of 2 who is looking to really start living. I will be returning to school to become a pharmacist but am currently working as a pharmacy technician. I love my kids, my career path, but feel like I'm just getting started. Most if not all of my friends are single with no children and own their own homes. I don't regret my life I just wonder sometimes. I need to connect with people in general but have always found it hard to with black people. I normally get that I'm too "white-washed", interested in "square" activities or act older than my 25 years. I just want to be who I am and not have to feel like I'm living in a perpetual state of being in high school.
Hi, my name is Tracy and I am a member of the Black Mom’s Club. I am doing my dissertation on parenting stress and social support among African American mothers. I am inviting you to participate. This is an important study because there’s a lack of studies about our parenting issues and experiences.
To participate you must have a biological child between age of 5-9, married (first time) or single (not divorced or separated) and US Citizen. If husband/mate in the home, he must be biological father of at least one of your children.

Hey Jessica,
I saw your post over on the credit issues group, and even though I am not a member of that group, I have lots of insight into this topic, seeing as how I spent the last 3 years seriously rebuilding my credit.
Step 1 is to get educated on the issue of credit. A great place to start- www.myfico.com
Step 3 is to begin the process of cleaning the report up, disputing all of the incorrect info, and deciding on a plan for repaying your debt.
Step 4 is to contact the creditors, tell them you are trying to straighten up your credit and want to settle the accounts, and see if they are willing to settle for a % of the actual debt. Come up with amounts/a payment plan you can actually afford.
Step 5 is to begin repaying and rebuilding your credit. Once youve been paying for 6 months or so, apply for a secured credit card through your bank or credit union. This is basically a savings account with a credit line = to your balance, but when you "charge" on the account, it is reported to the credit bureau.
Use the secured card responsibly- charge small amounts and pay it off monthly. And you will be able to apply for an unsecured card in about six more months.
