The Business of Being Born

I have been considering having a natural birth if the Lord should bless me with another child. My thinking has evolved immensley after having two children and three epidurals(yes, three!...I'll get to that...that's another post.)

In the past, I thought women who chose to have natural birth were downright crazy! "Why suffer when the good Lord has blessed us with all this good medicine?" I wondered. However, after some very enlightening conversations, a little research, and watching this trailer,… Continue

www."I deactivated my facebook account and now I'm free!".com...

...is my new blog site idea.

Yes, after much contemplation, I deactivated my facebook account last night. This is something I have postponed doing for quite sometime now. I just couldn't bring myself to get rid of the old thing before now.

Facebook can be alot of fun. Its great way to connect with old friends, meet new friends, network, keep in touch, and even stay up to date on current issues and causes. In relation to virtuous living: I'll admit that there are even many "real" christians on… Continue

Hi LaSandra, Hope you are having a spectacular day! Marie

"It’s Crunch Time!”, is a new children’s book by Marie Brewer (www.helenbrewer.com for the
link to book) is my book of muscle for boys (ages 9-12) to point them in the direction of HOPE!...This is an interactive book where they can write about their feelings. It discusses acceptable behavior, honesty, good self-image, respect for females and animals, appreciation for teachers/school, choosing good friends. The book also talks about resisting gangs, guns, drugs, violence, alcohol and bad influences. Let's attack the behavior, not the boy. "It's Crunch Time!" , by Marie Brewer, www.bbotw.com. Be a part of the village to help our boys envision their true God-given purpose!
We can turn this thing around! SEE! THINK ! ACT!
Heaven gives us hope! Marie Brewer

Become a FastGirl!

FastGirls is collective of women who have chosen to practice the sacred and beneficial art of fasting in an effort to heal their body, mind and spirit.

Fasting has its roots in nearly every religious tradition from Christianity and Islam to Judaism and wisdom traditions of the East. The practice can be found in history as early as 7000 B.C. and most recently in modern houses of worship and even hospitals around the world.

Fasting is an experiential process that teaches us how to be with the difficult. Fasting is difficult to start and difficult to continue. But its regular practice allows us stand in the face of inevitable challenges and experience our own ability to overcome.

If you would like to share in a community of women abstaining for the health of their mind, body and spirit, join us.
