Nicholle said… - Thanks for checkin on me! I just went to a conference in New Orleans and spent some time exploring the areas that got flooded during Katrina. You would be surprised by the amount of homes still empty, and areas where whole blocks are just gone! I'll post pics soon.

Good to hear from you! Thanks for checking on me. I have been thinking of ways to fund a trip to SA... Meanwhile, we are finishing up the semester, preparing to give and take exams, and preparing for summer.
The boys are out of school due to concerns about Swine Flu- there are 26 confirmed cases in the Dallas Fort Worth, Texas area so they will be traveling with me throughout the day- teaching, going to class, the library and everything in between. How is your family?

- Good Morning,
The economic "crisis" for me has been the impact on groceries. They have gotten significantly higher, and a shopping trip for the month that used to cost $100 is now about $150 and that is rice, oatmeal, chicken, fish, fresh veggies and fruits, milk, juice, eggs, some afterschool snacks for the boys, nuts and dried fruits for trail mix, a couple of frozen pizzas for friday nights, and lots of frozen veggies. In other words, no junk food, but things I actually cook for us to eat. Other than that, things are pretty much the same for me, but I was already on a shoestring budget since I am a student and single parent. For those who have a more extravagant lifestyle, I am sure things are a bit tighter.

Everything is going well. I am visiting family since our schools are on Spring Break. How are you? I just watched this documentary on the youth of SA called UP 21. I was curious, what part of SA are you in? is it rural or urban? I think it would be great if you are able to post some pics of your area on your page. Let me know what you think.

- Umm fun? Well, honestly, I have not done anything fun since the holidays when they went to visit their dad! We go to family friendly events around town and at the University, but other than that, weekends are spent preparing for the next week, and studying. On Saturdays when the weather is nice we all go on a family bike ride. Usually we go to the library, at least for a few hours, and the boys have Saturday school.
Now , when I do go out, I love the jazz club, music concerts, and films. How about you?
