I have decided to write this article in light of the recent closure and/or collapse, of Indy Mac and Bear Stearns. Those of you that have been directly affected in some way due to one or both of these unfortunate events, you are in our prayers. Could you imagine working hard each day and putting your earnings into a bank that you trust only to find out one day that bank is gone and any excess of funds over $100,000 are gone as well. Now imagine owning stock in one of the biggest firms on wall… Continue

There is a popular term used that says, “Let Go and Let Flow”. During my journey to prosperity, I learned many tough lessons, including the one that co-workers, bosses, friends and especially family will discourage you in different ways. I remember when I was younger and working for the state department. For a year I had a fantastic supervisor, who always encouraged and told me to focus more on my studies, and to not get comfortable working in my department. He was promoted and replaced. I… Continue

The vast majority of human beings hunger for the “good life.” But the good life means different things to different people. For some, it means a life that is free of any pain or suffering. Others seem to feel that the good life is a life of materialism.
For Christians the good life can only come when we surrender our will to our Lord and Master. In the fifth chapter of John, Jesus corrected the idea that working harder and/or having more knowledge is a good Christian… Continue

(BlackDoctor.org) -- "Sex and the City", is it about finding love in New York or giving young teenager girls ideas about sex? Statistics show that the increasing rate of teenage pregnancy can be linked to the media. Shows like "Sex and the City" use sexual dialogue and improper behavior like Samantha who is played by Kim Cattrall. This was one of the shows used in research.
The new study is the first to link those viewing habits with teen pregnancy, said lead author Anita Chandra, a… Continue

Although I was not aware of Antique Furniture while I was buying houses, I still did not feel comfortable in spending money to buy furniture, when it would only depreciate in value. I believe if it were not for my dad specifically, and other friends and family giving me different pieces of items, I would probably only have the two pieces of furniture that I purchased, during the four years that I bought houses. I mention my father especially, because he used to bring over items that were thrown… Continue

(BlackDoctor.org) -- Democrat Barack Obama, who has won the 2008 Presidential Election, is bringing change in the new administration but is certainly including the health care reform. More people are worrying about how long this reform is going to last and when it will come .
The Illinois senator has proposed sweeping changes in the health care system designed to provide health coverage to millions of uninsured Americans.
But experts… Continue

Okay moms, we celebrated, were elated, we are walking on Cloud 9. But as President Elect Obama explained, we must be the change we seek in the world.
What are you doing in your home, community, personal life, career, world?
How are you working for change?
Will you do anything differently?
Do you feel different?
How does having a Black President CHANGE things for you?

From the www.AutismClassroom.com website:
Here is an idea to build communication in your child or students. Make Items Inaccessible- Place items in a spot where the child can see the items, but cannot obtain the item, without the assistance from the adult. This can be done in a number of ways. First, highly motivating items can be placed behind the adult, but in clear view. Since the child cannot go through the adult, he or she must communicate with the adult to receive the item. Second,… Continue

I'm still in shock. Obama won the presidential election. As I feel exhilirated, hopeful, nervous, anxious, and giddy all at once, I also remain cognizant of the reality that this is not the "BIG" win. As he moves into office, the real work will thus begin. We have to stay focused on knowing that Obama's need for our support has only just begun and it is more than just donating a few dollars or attending a social fundraising event. Its about how we choose to live from here on out. Are we going… Continue

My sons and I stayed up to see Barack accept his position as President Elect of the United States of America.

As I sit back and look at history being made and listen to our very first black (yes I said black instead of african american) President. I am over joyed and a bit hardend at the way people are acting, people who are posting things like black people only voted for Obama for he is black. Do you all know that Obama is biracial? And my second question is what about all of the white, asian, mexican, puerto rican, asian, Muslim, korean, omg the list is endless that voted for him was it due also of… Continue

Barack wins Pennsylvania and Ohio. Let this African name go down in history.
Some may say he's a Liberal, I say bring it on!!!
People, the world as we know has changed. The world will look at us in wonder again. This has been historic. I can't believe I have lived to see this day.
America has matured, they are beginning to judge us by the content of our character and not the color of our skin.
